METALCASTELLO, PARTNER OF THE PORRETTA SOUL FESTIVAL AGAIN IN 2023

05.08.2023

The 35th edition of the Porretta Soul Festival has just come to an end, having seen world famous artists and legends of soul music alternating on stage at the Rufus Thomas Park from 20 to 23 July.

The quaint atmosphere of Porretta Terme acted as a backdrop for the event, together with the Street Food Village in the old town with its focus on typical products of the Bolognese Apennines. Featuring concerts by rhythm & blues bands from 11 in the morning on the 'Rufus Thomas Café Stage' in the central Piazza della Libertà. In over thirty years, the most important soul music artists have performed at the Porretta Festival, many of them arriving in Europe for the first time specially for the occasion, giving them a chance to be seen by the general public and the international press, who spoke of Porretta's 'miracle' as the musical event of recent years. In Porretta, to complete the atmosphere, there is the Rufus Thomas Park, Via Otis Redding, a bridge dedicated to Solomon Burke and a dozen murals dedicated to the greats of soul music. This year the Shield of Honour was awarded to Chef Massimo Bottura, co-founder together with his wife of Food For Soul, a non-profit organisation that promotes social awareness about food wastage and hunger.
